Consultant – Permanent Recruitment – Facilities Management
1) What made you choose Kingston Barnes as an employer?
I came from an International plc recruitment company. I was looking for a company where I could grow and utilise my recruitment knowledge in Facilities Management but also give me the ability to have flexible working. Having met with James and Kate they were two people I aspire to be; their work ethic and personalities was something I wanted to be a part of. This industry is renowned for working hard but I knew having met with James your efforts are rewarded and the work you do is appreciated, which you don’t get from many companies. Also building an FM division is a massive opportunity and knowing I had the backing from James was something I couldn’t miss out on from both personal development and career development perspective.
2) Why did you choose a career in recruitment? Where does your passion/drive come from?
I will be honest I fell into recruitment. I was working for an International construction company and a thoroughly enjoyed the construction/FM world. Unfortunately the project I was on came to an end and so did my time with the company. However since then I have found a passion for recruitment as I am able to help people find jobs as well as supporting various companies to develop their teams and business by supplying certain skill sets required to do so.
3) What interests you about Facilities Management? Where does your passion/drive come from?
Having previously worked for a facilities management agent I got to have an understanding of the FM world. From that I enjoy the complexity of the FM industry as can it vary so much from hard services, soft service, H&S, business development, client liaison, project management, commercial it’s a mixed caliber of people and industries. Industries I’m dealing with are Total FM providers, in-house FM, consultancies, it’s very diverse.
4) When you are not recruiting what do you do?
Outside of work I enjoy trying different restaurants and there are loads in Bristol, I partially enjoy a decent glass of Rioja to go with it. Because of my love for food and wine I need to make sure I keep myself active by going for walks and the gym.
